The Master Gardeners of Erie County will hold three fall workshops.

The cost for the public is $20 per class or $50 for all three workshops; the cost for Master Gardeners is $15 per workshop.

Class size is limited.

Classes are:

Hypertufa

10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9

Pavilion near tennis courts in Hamlin Park, S. Grove Street & Prospect Avenue, East Aurora

Hypertufas are rustic, light-weight containers that look like stone, similar to ones used in English gardens. Master Gardener Lyn Chimera will lead this make-and-take workshop.

Kokedama

7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19

Cooperative Extension offices in the Print Shop on the Roycroft Campus, 21 South Grove St., East Aurora

Kokedemas, or Japanese moss balls, are a unique way to grow and display plants. This will be taught by Master Gardener Carol Ann Harlos. You will make a kokedama to take home.

Overwintering, Propagation and Making Cuttings

7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27

Cooperative Extension offices in the Print Shop on the Roycroft Campus, 21 South Grove St., East Aurora

This workshop will show you how to save money by propagating and bringing in plants for the winter. It will be taught by Master Gardener Peggy Koppmann.
