Horticulture I classes at Botanical Gardens

The Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens will host six Horticulture I classes from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays at the Botanical Gardens, 2655 South Park Ave., Buffalo.

Participants will refresh their gardening skills, learn new concepts and ideas and explore the botanical world with classes designed and led by David R. Clark, horticulturist and CNLP. These classes are great for beginners or gardeners wishing to brush up on their skills. Those who complete each series will be presented with a certificate upon completion. Horticulture III and IV will be offered in 2020 and Horticulture V and VI will be offered again in 2021.

The cost is $18 per class or $108 for the series for Botanical Gardens members and $22 per class or $138 for the entire series for the general public.

Horticulture I includes six classes and topics in this series are: 

101 – Sept. 7: Botany 101
102 – Sept.14: Plant Propagation
103 – Sept. 28: Pest Management and Disease
104 – Oct. 5: Shrubs and Trees
105 – Oct. 12: Annuals and Perennials
106 – Oct. 26: Garden Design
