Cornell Cooperative Extension of Niagara County is offering a second series of homesteading classes this fall at 6 p.m. on Thursdays at its training center, 4487 Lake Ave., Lockport.
Fermenting at home will be offered Oct. 20. Making sauerkraut couldn’t be easier. Students will learn all about fermenting with Jen, the extensions’s master food preserver-in training. Students will be tasting some fermented foods, and each participant will get to take some sauerkraut with them to ferment at home. The cost is $25.
Participants must preregister and pre-pay for each class and class sizes are limited.
