The Great Pumpkin Contest and Show will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. Saturday, October 16 by the Pfeiffer Nature Center in the Red Oak field at the Eshelman property, 1420 Yubadam Rd., Portville.
Eric Jones, local artist and professional 3-D pumpkin carver, will give a pumpkin carving demonstration from 3-5 p.m. His freshly created pumpkin carving will be placed in a free raffle and the winner will be notified following the event.
You can enter a pumpkin for the contest or for the show for free.
