Spring is migratory bird season, and this year, Graycliff is teaming with the WNY Young Birders to offer a unique kid’s birding event throughout the eight and a half acres at Graycliff, 6472 Old Lakeshore Rd., Derby.

Kids and their families will enjoy a 45-minute Graycliff for Kids Tour as they learn the basics of organic architecture and Frank Lloyd Wright, and what makes Graycliff so special. After a brief snack break, kids will gather for Birding 101 with the WNY Young Birders to watch and listen as Blackburnian warblers, Swainson’s thrushes, blue-headed vireos, ruby-throated hummingbirds, and many others gambol and twitter among the trees.
Graycliff for Kids with WNY Young Birders is $18 per adult, with children 5 to 17 free. All guests must be registered and space is limited to 18 guests.
This tour is a kids and family focused tour, appropriate for children aged 7 to 9. Adults without children will not be accepted for this tour, and are encouraged to sign up for September 23 for the Birds on the Lake tour with the WNY Land Conservancy.
Some of the tour will take place outside, rain or shine, so please dress appropriately for the weather. A pair of binoculars are recommended for the birding portion of the tour; a limited number may be available day of.
Advanced reservations are strongly encouraged to avoid disappointment, as tours often sell out.
