“Garden Myth Busting: How to Weed through the Internet” will be presented by Professor Carolyn Stanko, Horticulture Program Coordinator, at 4 p.m. Monday, April 29 in E140 Lecture Hall, Niagara County Community College Sanborn Campus, 3111 Sanders Settlement Rd., Sanborn.
Parking for the event will be reserved in the Visitor Parking Lot located directly in front of the Learning Commons entrance.
Save time, money, and your back when Stanko separates gardening fact from fiction. Science has evolved, but the internet keeps spreading garden myths that cost you time, money, and can harm your landscape. This talk will help you understand what works and what does not in a science-based, environmentally friendly and fun talk focusing on sustainable best practices for your home garden. Join us for a plant scientist’s look at the gardening do’s and don’ts going viral on Facebook, Pinterest, and other gardening websites. Your gardening questions will be answered as time allows.
The talk is part of the Faculty Keynote series by the Niagara County Community College Faculty Resource Center.
Houseplants will be given out to the first 50 registrants in attendance.
This presentation is free, but registration is encouraged. You can register here or by emailing Maureen Winters at firstname.lastname@example.org.
1.5 CNLP Credits are available.
