A Forest Health Management Walk will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, September 11 by the Pfeiffer Nature Center at the the Eshelman Property, 1420 Yubadam Rd., Portville.
Forest Consultant Jared Kramer will share his knowledge on tree identification and how to assess the health and versatility of a forest.
Healthy forests are vital for many reasons. They sustain a wide variety of plant and animal life, they provide for human enrichment and they may serve as important economic resources.
The walk is free for members, $5 for non-members and free for children 13 and under. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
