Fall gardening classes to be held online by Master Gardeners

Online gardening classes will be offered in September by Master Gardeners from Cornell Cooperative Extension in Erie County.

The classes will be presented via Zoom and the cost will be $15 per class or $40 for all three classes.

Bulbs and Tubers and Corms, Oh, My!

Tuesday, Sept. 15, 6:30-8 p.m.

There is a wide variety of bulbs, (and tubers and corms) available to brighten your spring garden. Learn what’s new and interesting in this field just in time for fall planting. Carol Ann Harlos will present.

Fall Propagation and Winter Sowing

Wednesday, Sept. 23, 6:30-8 p.m.

Autumn is a great time for home gardeners to propagate plants. Learn how to take cuttings of shrubs and overwinter them in “Fall Propagation” led by Peggy Koppmann.  Phyllis Lobbins will discuss the popular “Winter Sowing” technique for starting perennials. 

Happy, Healthy Houseplants

Saturday, Sept. 26, 10– 11:30 a.m.

Houseplants are the fastest growing area of gardening with new and unusual varieties appearing in nursery centers. This session will be led by Linda Mayer.
