The Master Gardeners of Chautauqua County will hold an Evening in the Garden at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15 in the demonstration garden at the Frank W. Bratt Agricultural Center, 3542 Turner Rd., Jamestown.
Master Gardeners will discuss the types of garlic that grow well in our area, when to plant garlic and how to care for it after harvest. Wicki Stapleton, Master Gardener, will lead the garlic discussion and will also discuss the benefits of winter sowing.
There will be a discussion on “How to Water for Better Tasting Crops” led by Faith Segrest, Master Gardener.
There will be an “Ask a Master Gardener” time for your questions.
Take a small, dry soil sample from home to be tested that evening.
This event will be held rain or shine.
