The second Evening in the Garden will be held by Cornell Cooperative Extension Chautauqua County’s Master Gardeners Program will hold its at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 17 in the demonstration garden area at the Frank Bratt Agriculture Center, 3542 Turner Road, Jamestown.
The Evening in the Garden will be held rain or shine; the event will be held inside the Ag Center if the weather prevents meeting in the garden.
The session will be led by Master Gardeners Reg Boutelle and Jim Cowan.
Topics will be explanations of the 3-by-3 demo plots, a review of how previous plantings are coming, an explanation of the use of floating row covers, and a discussion of types of mulch being used. Some of the garden beds are now planted with native plants that attract beneficial insects, and you can learn more about these plants.
You can bring a small, dry soil sample for pH testing.
There will be time for anyone to ask gardening questions.
