The University of Buffalo Women’s Club will hold a luncheon with the theme “Celebrate Earth Day” on Saturday, April 22 at Samuel’s Grande Manor, 8750 Main St., Williamsville. Doors open at 11 a.m.
Sally Cunningham, horticulturist, writer and UB graduate, will present “We Have Choices on Earth Day and Every Day.” She will present the practical applications of big concepts: biodiversity and layering, sustainability and permaculture, water-wise landscaping, and ending entomophobia (fear of insects). With doable examples and a dose of humor and inspiration, she will share how to use native plants to support birds, pollinators and other beneficial creatures.
Cunningham will be selling and signing copies of her latest book Buffalo Style Gardens. If you already have a copy and want it signed, feel free to bring it along.
The cost for the luncheon is $37 per person. Make reservations by calling Marion Schultz at (716) 839-5626 or Sandy Starks at
716-982-6434 or by emailing sandystarks@gmail.com.
