Earth Day at the Botanical Gardens this year is surrounded by exotic plant life. Learn about the importance of recycling and enjoy completing an activity book as you stop at each station. Create your own seed bomb to learn about the role that pollinators play in nature and observe some germinating seeds with pollinator-friendly seeds to take home and plant.
Help save the bees with Hahn’s Honey Bees and learn about their rescue bees, and enjoy their incredible honey and wax products. There will be an environmental artist, Alexis Oltmer, who will be showing the beauty of repurposing and recycling in art. And lastly, learn about the importance of healthy lawns with the Erie County Environmental Management Council and their Spokesgnome, Frederick Lawn Gnomested. Snap a picture with Freddie and share his messages with the world.
Please note that some vendors will have items available for purchase at a separate price from admission.
Our Nature Book Drive with the Buffalo Bookmobile is also going on April 1 through the Earth Day Celebration as a part of the WNY Earth Day Challenge through Erie County. Bring in a book and earn points towards the challenge throughout the whole month and receive a guest pass to the Botanical Gardens! *(One guest pass per book limited to five) #WNYEARTHDAYCHALLENGE
