The deadline to register for the Cornell University Cooperative Extension 22nd Annual Rural Landowner Workshop is Friday, Feb. 14.
The workshop will be held on Saturday, March 1 at Pioneer High School, 12145 County Line Road, Yorkshire, NY.
This workshop offers a range of topics including forest management for a variety of objectives, small wind/solar home installations, pond site evaluation and other topics of interest to rural landowners.
This year there is an even stronger emphasis on invasive species than there has been in past years. The reason for this is that both land- and water-based invasives are on the rise. The best defense for these species that threaten ecologic and economic values in New York State is a vigilant and informed public. The program this year will include talks about some success stories with respect to managing invasives, tools available to help identify and map invasives, and reporting protocols for rapid response.
The registration fee of $30/person includes lunch, a copy of the seminar proceedings and all handout materials.
