Garden Walk Buffalo highlights the transformation of our region at the grassroots level, driven by amazing people planting something beautiful in their own neighborhoods. The event showcases our regions neighborhood spirit, inspiring architecture, magnificent waterfront, and especially its record number of spectacular gardens. One objective is to give back to the community by supplying funds to blocks clubs and neighborhood groups that want to improve their streets and become part of this wonderful weekend event.Since the program launched, the Marvin Lunenfeld Beautification Grants have helped to fund projects including community gardens, hanging flower baskets, street corner planter projects, garden restoration, and more.
Funding awards will be announced in early spring. These award projects will be highlighted during this summer’s Garden Walk Buffalo.
Garden Walk Buffalo, the largest garden tour in the U.S., is held the last weekend of July each year. This year the free event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, July 28 and 29.
In 2017, more than 400 residences and businesses throughout the west side of Buffalo opened their creative urban gardens for tens of thousands of visitors from around the U.S., Canada and abroad.
