5 Loaves Farm
A cut flower workshop and seedling sale will be held by Nickel City Floral at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 29 at 5 Loaves Farm, 70 West Delavan, Buffalo.
Learn how to grow a productive flower patch that will give you stunning bouquets all summer long. The talk will cover site preparation, choosing suitable varieties, starting seeds, pinching, staking and harvesting. Learn what sets growing cut flowers apart from other types of gardening.
This class is suited for beginners as well as more experienced gardeners.
Following the class they will have seedlings (since it will be getting late to start your own seeds this year) and a limited number of dahlia tubers for sale, so save some space in your garden for a cutting patch this summer.
All proceeds from the seedlings and dahlias will go to 5 Loaves Farm, which redeems vacant lots on Buffalo’s Upper West Side by creating sustainable market gardens that produce healthy foods, along with spiritual, educational, & economic resources for the neighbors.
