A Mushroom Inoculation Class will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, April 28 at the Wyoming County Cornell Cooperative Extension Office, Room LC1, 36 Center Street, Warsaw.

Learn how to grow your own edible mushrooms at home. This class will cover the basics on how to grow shiitake, lions mane, oyster, wine cap and nameko mushrooms.

This presentation is designed for those who wish to produce on a hobby level, but it will provide detail and resources to address commercial cultivation practices.

Following a presentation on home-grown mushroom cultivation techniques and log maintenance, the class will inoculate logs with mycelium that will produce edible gourmet shiitake mushrooms for years. You will be able to take your own shiitake log home. This project can get messy so dress accordingly.

The class will be indoors for the presentation and outdoors for the hands-on portion.

All materials will be provided.

The cost is $30/per person or $25/per person for CCE enrollees.

Prepaid registration is required. The class size is limited to 30 participants. Register early; the class fills quickly! Register here.
