Buckhorn Island State Park

Buffalo Audubon Society will hold the Buckhorn Island State Park BioBlitz from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 11 at the park, 2136 West Oakfield Rd., Grand Island.

The group will spend the day identifying and recording as many species of trees, wildflowers, birds, insects, mammals, amphibians, and anything else they can find at Buckhorn Island State Park. Drop in for an hour or pack a lunch and spend the whole day.

A bio-blitz is a community-science effort to record as many species within a designated location and time period as possible. Bio-blitzes are great ways to engage the public to connect to their environment while generating useful data for science and conservation.
