The Buffalo Audubon Society will hold a beginner birding program from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27 at Unity Island, 1726 Niagara St., Buffalo.

Participants will join Buffalo Audubon Naturalist Tom Kerr for a beginner birding walk on Buffalo’s Unity Island. Ducks and gulls congregate by the hundreds in the Niagara River during the winter and can be easy for beginner birders to start with. The group will go over identification tips, how to use a field guide and how to use binoculars. Binoculars will be available.

Pre-registration is required. Donations will be accepted. Call 585-457-3228 to register.
