The Buffalo Audubon Society will hold a fall birding hike from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday Nov. 18 starting at the fisherman’s parking lot at Artpark, 450 S. 4th St., Lewiston.
Participants will spend a morning birding at the Niagara Gorge with Buffalo Audubon Naturalist Tom Kerr and Buffalo-Niagara Waterkeeper staff.
Thousands of Bonaparte’s gulls flock to the Niagara River Gorge every year in the fall. The group will watch them catch fish (or steal another gull’s fish) during a hike along the gorge trails. All participants must fill out a waiver and all participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Binoculars will be available.
