Beautification grants for gardeners in the City of Buffalo are available through Gardens Buffalo Niagara. This year, previously separate funding programs have been merged into one, the Marvin Lunenfeld Grants (previously the Lunenfeld and Vibrant Buffalo grants).

Awards of  up to $1,000 will be based on the overall project cost and matching funds from government, private contributions, or volunteer sweat equity.

Projects can include community gardens, street-side planters, historical garden restoration, annuals for baskets–pretty much any garden-related project.

Grant applications are due on or before March 15.

Projects need to be public—seen from the street—and should be designed to bring neighbors together. See more information and a link to the application here. Send questions to grants@buffaloniagara.com or call (716) 247-5004.

Gardens Buffalo Niagara creates more vibrant and beautiful communities by sharing our gardens through events like Garden Walk Buffalo, America’s largest garden tour;  the East Side Garden Walk; Tours of Open Gardens on Thursdays and Fridays in July; the Buffalo Style Garden Art Sale; and promoting the 15 other regional garden tours in the region.
