The Audubon Community Nature Center will hold a apples all year long: site selection program from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9 at the Community Nature Center, 1600 Riverside Road, Jamestown.
Participants will evaluate their site to determine the best place for apple trees and what preparation is needed.
Apple trees are hardy plants, but benefit from best placement on the landscape. Participants will learn apple tree preferences in regards to to pH, soil nutrients, soil types, drainage and sun.
The cost to attend is $16 and $12 for Community Nature Center members.
Advance registration online or by calling 569-2345 during business hours is required by February 6.
