The Massachusetts Avenue Project (MAP) and Eat Smart Western New York will host “A Hands on Approach to Fundamental Cooking Skills”, a four-part series of workshops, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Jan. 29, Feb. 26, March 26 and April 30 in the farmhouse at MAP, 387 Massachusetts Ave., Buffalo.
Participants will build up their kitchen knowledge and learn to cook with this hands-on cooking series.
The classes will teach fundamental cooking skills including knife handling, affordable ways to shop and stock your cupboards, how to healthfully add and build flavors and finish with simple ways to plan meals on a budget. Each class will make a fun and easy recipe to enjoy. These events are free and everyone is welcome to join.

Workshop 1, Jan. 29: knife skills and kitchen safety featuring winter vegetable wrap
Workshop 2, Feb. 26: Make the most of your food budget featuring breakfast egg strata
Workshop 3, March 26: How to identify and use flavors featuring broccoli cheddar soup
Workshop 4, April 30: Meal planning made easy featuring DIY personal pizzas
