Some seeds need special treatment to get good germination. This class covers stratification and scarification: what they are, what seeds need them, a few methods for doing them, and a bit on why some seeds make us go to all this trouble.
If you’re confident starting plants like tomatoes, peppers, and zinnia from seed and want to go further, this is the class for you.
It will be presented by Erica Fire, a volunteer with the WNY Seed Library, at the Audubon Branch Library, 350 John James Audubon Parkway, Amherst.
Space is limited. To register, please call the Audubon Library at 716-689-4922.
