Honey harvest demonstration

A honey harvest demonstration will by held by Pelion Outdoor Classroom from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14 in Pelion Community Garden, 206 Best St, Buffalo

Sample honeys from around the country and learn how they harvest a few frames of honey. Got a little muscle? You can help crank the extractor!

They will be employing the equipment inside a screened tent so that fewer bees will engage with people while they’re working, but be aware that there will be many bees (and probably yellow jackets) attracted and curious about what the people are up to. It is a good idea to wear a long sleeve shirt and pants and to avoid sweet/floral perfumes.
