Be a citizen scientist and join one of the many Christmas bird counts that the National Audubon Society will hold.
The Christmas bird counts have been taking place for more than 120 years. The information from these has been used in hundreds of analyses, peer-reviewed publications and government reports over the decades.
You can see other bird counts and contact information in Western New York, Pennsylvania and Ontario on this map.
At the Evangola Christmas Bird Count, they will be birding as a group. Both veteran and beginner birders are welcome.
Meet at the Evangola State Park Bath House, Warm Up Room. Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to the start of the program.
The event is free, but registration is required.
