Biochar demonstration in Eden

The Biochar Coalition will hold “A Carbon Experience” from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1 at Henry’s Gardens, 7884 Sisson Hwy., Eden.

Find out about the applications and uses of biochar: helping soil nutrients and filtration, storing carbon in the soil for eons, processing plants and animals, and more.

There will be a demonstration of pyrolysis, the process used to create biochar.

The presenters will be John Maher of Lake View, a board member with the Biochar Coalition, and Ken Scherer of Northern California, executive director and secretary of the coalition.
