Anyone can take the floral design class offered this fall at Niagara County Community College, and those over age 60 can audit the class for free.

“Seniors can audit any horticulture class for free,” said Carolyn A. Stanko, CNLP, Horticulture Program coordinator & assistant professor. “It is one of the best kept secrets out there.”

See a list of NCCC horticulture courses here.

HRT 111 Floral Design I is a hands-on class. It will meet Mondays from 9-11 a.m. and Wednesdays from 9 a.m.-noon from Aug. 31 through Dec. 16.

Anyone can take the class; you don’t need to be a matriculated student, that is, pursuing a degree, to register.

The deadline to register is Friday, Aug. 28. (You can register the first day of class, but the college imposes a late registration fee.)

Find registration information for matriculated and non-matriculated students here.

If you want to take the class for personal enjoyment (non-matriculated), call the admissions department at (716) 614-6200.

Seniors wishing to audit the class can register Aug. 26-28 in the Records Department, Room A201. The phone number there is (716) 614-6250.

For more information, contact Stanko at cstanko@niagaracc.suny.edu  or (716) 614-6423.
