Plantasia plans new events including tea party, craft beer night and visit by fairy tale princesses

Reservations are due tomorrow, March 11 for one of several new events at Plantasia— a garden tea party.

The tea party will be held at noon Thursday, March 19 at Plantasia in the Fairgrounds Event Center, 5820 South Park Avenue, Hamburg. The menu will include salad, sandwiches, desserts and a variety of teas. The cost is $22.95 and includes the cost of admission to Plantasia. Here are a couple other new events:

Craft Beer Night
Thursday, March 19  from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Enjoy samplings from local breweries including McKenzie’s Ciders, Big Ditch, Flying Bison and Saranac. A craft beer sampling pass is an additional charge to the cost of admission. You must be 21 or older and have proper ID.

The Frozen fairytale princesses visit Plantasia

Saturday, March 21 from  11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Sunday, March 22 – 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Meet Anna and Elsa as well as Olaf and Kristoff from the movie Frozen. Photos are available at an additional charge.

Plantasia is Western New York’s premier home and garden show. It kicks off with a Preview Night from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 18.

Tickets for Preview Night are $15 and can be purchased online or at the door. It will include  food tastings from local restaurants and a cash bar.

Plantasia continues from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, March 19-21 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 22.

There is nightly entertainment, too.

There’s a great lineup of speakers from Thursday through Sunday. I’ll be giving a talk called “Get Crafty in Your Garden,” where I’ll show you ideas for items you can make for your garden as well as from your garden. That talk will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 21.
