The fourth annual Grow Jamestown Garden Fair has been expanded to include a week of educational workshops, demonstrations and other activities centered on agriculture and education.

The week of events will take place Monday through Friday, March 16-20. It will culminate  with the Garden Fair from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 21, at the Lillian Vitanza Ney Renaissance Center,  119-121 West 3rd St. (corner of Washington and 3rd), Jamestown.

“There is something for everyone this year,” said Mary Maxwell, neighborhood project associate with the Jamestown Renaissance Corporation, the organization that is organizing the event.

The activities during the week encourage the community to live healthier lifestyles and build stronger neighborhoods through gardening and landscaping initiatives. The Garden Week schedule will include basic gardening workshops, food science documentaries, children’s activities, canning classes and general composting in urban spaces. See the entire schedule for the week here. Note that some events require registration ahead of time.

The Jamestown Renaissance Corporation is a nonprofit organization that supports downtown and neighborhood revitalization in Jamestown  by promoting reinvestment, stakeholder engagement and innovation.
