It’s not that we don’t have inspiration for our landscapes. We go on the garden walks and Open Gardens. We look at photos on Buffalo-NiagaraGardening.com and Pinterest. We see lots of beautiful landscapes that we wouldn’t mind having in our yards.
But we just don’t know where to start.
You will have a unique opportunity to get advice for your own landscape from gardening expert Sally Cunningham, CNLP, in a small discussion group at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11 at Lockwood’s Greenhouses, 4484 Clark St., Hamburg.
While the event is free, you must RSVP by calling 649-4684. If the size of the group becomes too large, Lockwood’s will offer a second session.
The group must remain small because after Cunningham provides information that most homeowners need to know, you can get an individualized consultation with Cunningham or Lockwood’s other professional staff.
Bring pictures of your home and grounds, basic measurements of the space and samples of plants you don’t recognize.
If suitable, Sally will make individual appointments for follow-up with you at Lockwood’s.
Cunningham and the Lockwood’s staff want to help you find the right landscape style, with the right plants, for your home, and then helping you manage your landscape.

I forgot to mention in the article that there is still time to plant trees and shrubs, so you can install the “bones” of your garden now. This is a great time to plan your garden. Thanks for writing, Linda.
What a generous offer and great opportunity!
