You can find information on invasive species through the 2014 New York State Invasive Species Speaker Series organized by Partnerships for Regional Invasive Species Management (PRISM).
Selected recordings can be found at the NY Invasives You Tube Channel. People who don’t feel tech savvy may feel most comfortable accessing the information there.
If you’re a little more confident when it comes to technology, you may want to sit in on one of the monthly teleconferences. You’ll find information on how to attend the call as well as a list of topics here.
The next teleconference will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 26. Amanda Rodewald of the Cornell Lab or Ornithology will discuss “Plant-bird-predator interactions and the community-level consequences of invasive shrubs.” In May the topic will be “A Very Brief Introduction to Invasive Ornamental Plants” by Sarah Reichard, director of the University of Washington Botanic Gardens.
Thanks, Donna. I needed something colorful to get across the idea of invasive species. I think people get the idea that the big flower is shoving the others out of the way.
I like your illustration, Connie.
