Deadline nears for registering entries in agricultural fair
You can enter your heirloom vegetables, cut and dried flowers, herbs and more in the annual exhibition and fair to be held at the Genesee Country Village and Museum, 1410 Flint Hill Road, Mumford.
The deadline for entries is Friday, September 14. Anyone can enter. Entrants will receive a one-day free admission to the fall fair.
Many of the categories include a 19th-Century as well as a 21st-Century section. In addition to plants and flowers, categories include cooking, preserves, needlework, baskets and photography. There is a youth division in addition to the adult division. See the list of categories and entry form here.
The fair will be part of the museum’s fall festival to be held 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 6 and 7.
Other activities include vendors offering cheeses, baked goods, maple products, spices, honey, cider, fresh vegetables and other specialty items; a 19th-century magic show; a poultry show and display of other prize-winning farm animals, and baseball teams squaring off for the Mayor’s Cup Championship trophy.

Lockwood’s Fall Garden Fair is this weekend
Lockwood’s Greenhouses Fall Garden Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8 at Lockwood’s Greenhouses, 4484 Clark Street, Hamburg.
The fair includes several great talks and demonstrations; pre-registration is required. See the whole list of presentations here.

The fair will include more than 24 local vendors and artisans offering garden art, jewelry, nature-themed décor, gifts, pottery, props and tools.
